General situation for South Ireland
Updated Wednesday 23rd July 2008
Good solid medium sized westerly swells for all coasts today and tomorrow. Fading and becoming weaker at the weekend but improving again early next week. This time the swells will be slightly more to the north of west and will be rather small for south coasts and mid wales. Weather should be on the good side of mixed. Continuing much in the same pattern and can't tell at the moment if the first weekend in August will be in a good bit or a bad bit. - SoulSurfer

Weather Forecast:
Headline:
Fine end to the day, but becoming cloudy again overnight.

This Evening and Tonight:
Many places will see a fine, bright then clear end to the day. It will, however, become cloudy again through the evening and overnight with mist developing along the Down coast. The southwesterly breeze will back south.

Wednesday:
Cloud will break up sunshine developing, albeit rather hazy. Warm inland, but a south or southeast breeze will keep it a touch colder in coastal Down and East Antrim.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Sunny spells and showers, some heavy, through Thursday. Dry for much of Friday, but rain developing later in the day. This rain will clear early Saturday leaving sunshine and showers.

NOTE: The above data is for deep water ocean swells, and does not mean that waves at the beach will be that size or direction. It does however provide a valuable indication of the swell size, direction and winds for the next 72 hours. The most reliable indication of actual conditions is an Eyeball Surf Report, as on most of our surf report pages.

Tramore has a promenade, car park and lifeguard station. Tramore beach is 5km long with high sand dunes but it is also very stony particularly near the promenade so for a more sandy feel it is best to walk towards the other end of the beach.
