General situation for Scotland

Westerly swells fading for the weekend as south easterly winds dominate. Some south westerly swells early next week but the action has all moved further south - SoulSurfer

Bright then clear with the odd shower. Mild.

This Evening and Tonight:
Any showers should die out through the evening leaving a bright or sunny end to the day. Clear spells will follow overnight, although it will be somewhat cloudier across southern and eastern hills. Light southwesterly breezes. Mild.

Wednesday:
Cloudy across some hills, otherwise bright or sunny. It will feel warm in the sunshine, more particularly inland, where as onshore breezes will make it feel cooler along the coasts.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Southeasterly winds will bring haar along the North Sea coasts, otherwise bright or sunny spells with showers, some heavy, through Thursday. Dry until late Friday. The rain clearing through Saturday.

Dunnet Bay is a three mile sandy beach facing north west, and located about 5 miles east of Thurso. There are sand bar breaks along its length and a right hand break along the reefs at the northern end.
