Goodbye and thanks for all the fish!
After Twenty years of doing this job I have decided to retire so this is planned to be my last forecast

I will post a little bit about doing your own forecasts next week.

Just a quick outlook. high pressure and small waves are with us until the weekend early next week another slow low will come in and do much the same as this week next week so wepect smallish messy waves and mixed weather next week with a possibility of the weather improving but the waves fading next

Very small to flat for a week while a low develops in the Atlantic then a weak low slowly comes in from the west

Pressure is slowly rising leaving a rather flat and nondescript weather pattern with light and variable winds everywhere. Another low is forecast to develop slowly out in the Atlantic . it is currently forecast to approach the british isles later in the weekend and come over them next week. this will bring some waves from the west eventually but the do not look very

British Isles surf prospects 3 - 13 August
Make the most of this weekend's waves in the south west because next week it looks very much smaller

A low will slowly cross the british isles as it fades. the westerly wind waves it has generated for the south west will slowly fade with it leaving a rather flat and nondescript weather pattern with light and variable winds every where. Another low is still forecast for next weekend but it will stay out in the atlantic and it is a much weaker affair with very little clear wave

Remember this week's weather because next week could be very similar

A low centred just to the west of Ireland is going to move slowly east and fade away as it comes over England. this will take from now until the beginning of next week. It looks like the same thing will happen again starting next Wednesday. These lows will bring wind waves to the south west coasts but not do much good anywhere else.

It's déjà vue all over again!

A low is now developing to the west of the british isles and will come in from the west over the next few days. Most of the winds will be around the south west but the waves will be local and short period. however it is not all bad news because the winds will turn southerly and go offshore for some spots

British Isles Surf Prospects 27 July - 6 Aug 2012
Little surf and more mixed weather is not a terribly good prospect

Weather systems are generally quite weak and a low pressure centre is stuck over Scandinavia and the Shetlands feeding light north to north westerly winds over the British isles while the Atlantic is an almost featureless medium high. This will not produce much useful surf and make the weather cooler and more changeable right through the lookout period.

The search for surf is on

High pressure is over most of the British Isles and well out into the Atlantic. The last low has stuck to the north of Scotland and Scandinavia. Any remaining swells form it are fading. It has left a weakening waving front across the north of England This is a the line separating the cool northern air with the warm southern air. This air is now forecast to push south over the weekend to cool things down but none of this action generates much useable
