Finisterre Surf Forecast Thursday 28th June @ 1100. Forecast window 28th June-2nd July 2012
More onshore waves as the low moves through - should be a few fun bumpy ones about.
Synoptic situation – Low (994mb) Bay of Biscay moves NE over the weekend, deepening for a time. Low (1006mb) North Atlantic forms and moves towards the UK by the start of next week. |

Few fun waves to be had last night - peaky 2-3ft and packing quite a punch for its size. Good fun in the offshores. Wind has veered SW and now a crumbly 2ft at the open beaches of the North Coast. Wind and swell set to build during the day as the low heads for tomorrow am - should be 3ft + by the end of the day. Quite a SSW orientation in the track of the low, so waves on the South Coast as well. Into tomorrow we'll see 4ft+ of surf with moderate SW winds - should be a few bumpy ones around. Much the same for Saturday - 4-5ft+ at open beaches in strong SW winds - shelter the go i'd have said. Into Sunday, wind and swell drop off as the low moves off - more west in the wind though, so getting in everywhere. Into Monday and next week it looks as if we've got 2-3ft swell with cross-shore and onshore surf. Ho hum, not flat though...!
Low tides 3am/3pm. Moving to neaps. |
