Surf forecast Thursday 2nd January 2012 @ 1000. Surf forecast window 2nd-6th Feb 2012

Good swell in for the weekend, although wind looking a bit more onshore than expected at the start of the week.

Synoptic situation - High (1037mb) Eastern Europe builds and extends east over UK for a time. Low (997mb) North Atlantic moves east, deepening for a time.
Beauty week so far down here, cold offshore easterlies and 2-3ft for most of the week, some fun banks about and had two dolphins through the line up on Tuesday evening (always bigger close up than you think!)...anyway brought smiles to the neoprene clad humans. Also it is getting lighter in the evening - got out at about 6. Stoked for the fini merino long johns post surf though...! It now looks like the weekend will be a bit more onshore than expected. Small and clean tomorrow, maybe a longboardable one first thing. Winds veer SW on Saturday as the low heads in, bringing a 3-4ft swell and SW winds by the end of the day. These veer N by Sunday, 3-4ft North Coast so get out of the wind, or head to the really exposed spots on the South Coast for a small, clean wave. Looks like we'll have lightish, offshore waves in for the start of next week and may see more swell on the way for Tuesday, but could go either way with the wind, so keep an eye out.

Low tides 9am/9pm - moving to springs
