Vans are more well known for their traditional 'skate shoes', yet they also produce lots of casual shoes too. I was lucky enough to try out a pair of Vans Rata Plus shoes and can make the claim that they are without doubt one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn! |

Yes it's a big claim, but these seriously are!
The Vans Rata Plus are organic canvas, made with a really soft, light material that seems like you're not really wearing a pair of shoes.
The footbed lining is made from Bamboo and again is super soft. Also they are 'Fungus Resistant' and have 'Moisture Wicking' properties - perfect if you like to wear your shoes without shocks!
Because the Rata Plus shoes are so lightweight, it means they are great to take with you on surf trips as they won't weight down your luggage.
I took them with me on a recent trip to France and they were so useful to have with me, yet took up next to no room in my bag.
Although I tend to wear flip flops for as much of the year as possible, there are times when it you do need to have a 'proper' pair of shoes with you. This could be to help get you into a fussy night club or even just to look a bit less like a beach bum!
Although they are lightweight, they are really cosy warm. They're ideal for slipping on after a surf to warm up your feet, plus are a cool alternative to slippers for chilling at home.
These shoes were black, with a nice blue flash running down the edge of the mid soles, plus the tell-tale Vans 'Off The Wall' logo on the heel. They look wicked as well as being great to wear.
The Vans Rata Plus cost £45. Check out the Vans website to find out where your nearest dealer is. |
