John John wins Billabong Rio Pro
John John Florence (HAW), 19, has won his maiden ASP ASP World Championship Tour event, taking out the Billabong Rio Pro over Joel Parkinson (AUS), 31, in barreling three-to-four foot (1 metre) waves at Barra da Tijuca.

Bundoran to host ASP Europe speciality event this summer
Barefoot Wines in association with Billabong will host ASP Europe’s first speciality event in 2012: an expression session with a 3,000€ prize-purse in Bundoran, Ireland during the Sea Sessions festival from June 29 to July 1. The invitational event will host some of the UK and Europe’s best free surfers as well as well-known ASP competitors.

Fanning claims Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach
Mick Fanning (AUS), 30, has claimed the 2012 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by Ford Ranger over reigning 11-time ASP World Champion Kelly Slater (USA), 40, in offshore three-to-five foot (1 – 1.5 metre) waves at Bells Beach.

Burrow and Gilmore claim Quiksilver and Roxy Pro events
The final day of the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover culminated this weekend with perennial ASP World Title threat Taj Burrow (AUS), 33, and four-time ASP Women’s World Champion Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 24, taking the respective wins in clean two-to-three foot (1 metre) waves at the primary venue of Snapper Rocks.

Kieran Perrow wins first career title at Billabong Pipe Masters
Kieren Perrow (AUS), 34, has won his inaugural ASP World Tour event, taking out the Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons over fellow countrymen Joel Parkinson (AUS), 30, in four-to-six foot waves. John John Florence (HAW), 19, also found his way to the podium as the overall winner of the 2011 Vans Triple Crown.
