Top surfers get on board to support the National Trust
Nine of the country’s top surfers recently gathered at Sandymouth, a National Trust beach in North Cornwall, to mark the launch of a new phase of a unique surfing project.

Ride for Earth project encourages surfers to plant trees
This week Ride Snowboards released their new website and environmental project: Ride for Earth (RFE). This great new initiative is asking anyone who owns a board to take responsibility and help the environment. Any board is welcome: surfboards, snowboards, wakeboards, skateboards and even skis!

Surfers for Cetaceans to premiere film in Jersey
“SURFERS for Cetaceans”, the pro-cetacean group co-founded by professional free surfer Dave Rastovich and eco-warrior Howie Cooke, are hosting the UK premiere of their highly-anticipated Minds in the Water (MITW) film on Jersey on July 14th.

Doolin Pier granted permission
Despite protests and campaigning by local surfers and residents, County Councillors in Clare have voted in favour of the construction of a new pier at Doolin. This will have a negative impact on the nearby waves of Crab Island and Doolin Point waves.

Mentawais Earthquake and Tsunami aid appeal launched
Around 10pm local time yesterday (Monday 25 October) an earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale occurred just south of the Mentawai Islands, sending a three meter Tsunami through parts of the island chain.
