Finisterre Surf Forecast 23rd May 2013 @ 1530. Forecast window 23rd-28th May 2013.

Not a great outlook for the weekend and beyond with cool NW winds and short period wind waves all the way.

Synoptic situation – Low (993mb) Scandinavia moves south down the North Sea. High (1037mb) mid Atlantic fills in situ. Low (996mb) far North Atlantic form by the end of the weekend and heads SE towards the UK early next week.
No sign of summer this week - cool NW winds and really weak, short period wind chop on these coasts. There are waves if you're super keen, but it ain't pretty whichever way you look at it! Problem is there is a blocking high giving the mid Atlantic loads of sun right now, but is also sucking in the cooler air and low pressure systems that don't generate any swell for these coasts from up North. So we've got 1-2ft of NW windswell right through the weekend and into next week. East Coast may have the odd wave about, but far from classic. Tuesday next week may see a slightly longer period groundswell head in with more of a westerly airflow - still onshore/windy and not that great, but may be a slight improvement in the wave quality. Hang in there, summer and some good waves have to be coming soon..!

New spring/summer range is now in, so have a look at the site or swing by the shop here in Aggie if you're passing.

Low tide 12am/12pm, moving to springs.
