WEATHER
Bright and breezy. Rain in west later
Today:
Rather cloudy across Galloway with a little rain at times but elsewhere sunny spells developing through the morning. More persistent rain reaches Galloway later. Strong southeasterly winds, with coastal gales, mean a cool feeling day, especially for Eyemouth and Dunbar.
Tonight:
A dry evening across Lothian and Borders with some clear spells. However rain across Galloway turns heavy and persistent during the evening before spreading to all parts overnight. Remaining windy.
Tuesday:
A wet start with some persistent and heavy rain around but brighter conditions spread northeast through the morning. This leaves sunshine and occasionally heavy showers for the afternoon. Winds easing.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Sunny spells and slow moving showers on Wednesday and Thursday, heavy with a risk of thunder. Showers on Friday expected to merge to give more persistent, occasionally heavy, rain.
