WEATHER
Strong winds and heavy rain today but becoming drier overnight.
Today:
Heavy rain affecting the far west of Wales gradually spreads east to affect much of the country during the day. Chance of brighter conditions spreading in the southwest later this afternoon. Strong, gusty southeasterly winds ease later.
Tonight:
Persistent, heavy rain gradually clears away northeastwards overnight, to be replaced by drier but still rather cloudy weather. Chance of heavy showers along southern and western coasts by dawn.
Tuesday:
A day of sunny periods and scattered, occasionally heavy and thundery showers across Wales, although most parts will be dry by evening. Winds remain light.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Remaining unsettled with sunshine and showers each day, with some of these showers becoming heavy at times. Chance of more persistent rain on Friday. Temperatures remain near normal.
