WEATHER
Bright and breezy.
Today:
Rather cloudy at times with a little rain about but generally becoming brighter through the morning with some sunny spells developing. However cloud increasing during the afternoon bringing more persistent rain to Kintyre later. Strong southeasterly winds with coastal gales.
Tonight:
Cloudy with outbreaks of rain spreading across the area through the evening, turning more persistent and occasionally heavy, especially for Argyll. Remaining windy with coastal gales.
Tuesday:
A wet start with some heavy rain around but brighter conditions with a few heavy showers soon reaching Ayrshire then spreading to most parts through the day. Winds easing.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Sunny spells and slow moving showers on Wednesday and Thursday, heavy with a risk of thunder. Showers on Friday expected to merge to give more persistent, occasionally heavy, rain.
